Plan of Analysis: Structure
What is Plan of Analysis and how to create it ...
Plan of Analysis represents the overall goal and objectives of the analysis, includes hierarchical structure
of parameters with their weights (=priorities) and Utility Functions.
The Plan reflects your understanding of the decision
problem, your experience, preferences and priorities. At the same time group of exsperts may work on the Plan, and
ESTIMATION AND CHOICE has special tool to coordinate their opinions.
Plan of Analysis has a hierarchical structure.
At the top level is the goal of the analysis (For Example: "To compare Business Plans to choose the best one", "To
compare Companies on stock market to buy optimal set of shares", "To compare Car models to buy family car" etc...)
At the next level there are General Parameters influencing your Goal of the Analysis.
At the bottom level of the hierarchy there are parameterts of the alternatives influencing the
General Parameters.
In other words, first - you have to know what you are going to compare and what for, second - which general
characteristics of the alternatives you want to estimate, and third - which parameters of the alternatives are influencing
these General Parameters. You also have to setup priorities of the General Parameters as well as priorities of
parameters of the alternatives. And finally you have to define Utility Functions - to let system know which values of
the parameters are "good" and which are "bad".
To create new Plan of Analysis open pad "Plans of Analysis" and click link "Create New Plan", then input name of your
